Diets - What Works?Not everyone is the same, so no one diet is going to suit everyone. What is important however is to recognise the effect weight has on your health, whether someone is overweight or under weight, it has an impact on your health. Next is the question of your lifestyle, lets be realistic, if you are a busy working mom (mum) then having to prepared special fiddly meals won't work either. However before you say I don't have time, stop and consider, if you are eating badly, are your children or the rest of the family eating the same? Perhaps a change in eating habits for everyone could improve health and balance for the whole family. Then preparing a healthy meal for yourself no longer becomes a chore, because you are doing the same for everyone, plus you can modify the quantity for anyone who needs to loose a few pounds.. The serious effects of being overweight cannot be stressed enough, that does not mean trying to look like a catwalk model, but a realistic goal for a reasonable weight that you feel comfortable with, you will fell better, be able to do more with the family, and prevent many of today's killer diseases striking at an early age. Its all very well saying it doesn't matter, I'm happy being fat - you might be - but what reaction will your body have? and when? There is a balance to be had, so think before that extra biscuit, or chocolate muffin disappears.
